Since its founding in April 1997 by the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies, the Dorot and Nathan Cummings Foundations, the SHELI FUND has awarded some 6,500,000 NIS through 500 grants to420 different organizations.

For the last years the SHELI Fund has operated under the auspices of the Green Environment Fund (GEF), which is a consortium of foundations focusing on issues of environmental quality.
